Dr. Mdemu (PhD), is currently the Director of the Institute of Human Settlement Studies (IHSS) at Ardhi University and has worked for the University since 2009. He holds a PhD (Agric. Water Management), Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, German, 2008, a Masters degree in Agric. Eng. (Land and Water Management), Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania, 2002 and B.Sc. in Agric. Eng. Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania, 1998. Has experience in research, teaching and public service in the areas of land and water management, irrigation water management, hydrological and hydraulic analysis of water infrastructures, resource assessments, ecosystem planning, climate change, mitigation & adaptation, strategic environmental assessments, environmental &social impact assessments for development projects and project cycle management
